Hyderabad: Telangana High Court will be closed from September 29 to October 7 in observance of Dasara. During the recess, the High Court will hear cases presided over by Justices Kunuru Lakshman and Chillakur Sumalatha.
The filing deadline is September 30 and the hearing will take place on October 6. Judges will begin single bench proceedings after completing division bench work. Topics will be distributed by the senior judge. If bail is rejected by the Magistrate, Sessions Judges, or Additional Sessions Judges, as they deem appropriate, the Vacation Judges shall convene the court to consider matters relating to habeas corpus, advance bail and bail requests.
Any other urgent matters that cannot wait until after the vacation, such as eviction, repossession, demolition, etc., may be heard if specially approved by the Dean of Vacation. The Senior Divisional Bench Judge will receive luncheon motions and urgent Divisional Bench notices.
A single judge would hear all lunch motions and urgent mentions relating to a single bench. Except with the approval of the Senior Holiday Judge, routine matters will not be discussed during the holidays. No business in progress can be taken on vacation unless explicitly ordered to post it.
The Registrar General has issued a notice stating that no political or administrative matters are to be discussed while employees are on vacation.
