Poppulo founder named Cork’s Tech Person of the Year

Andrew O’Shaughnessyfounder of Poppulo, was named Tech Person of the Year at Cork’s Leaders Awards 2022held in person for the first time since 2019.

Rochestown Park Hotel event organizers said O’Shaughnessy was recognized for his pioneering work in creating and scaling the employee communications platform and for his role in the development of legislation and best practices for the technology industry.

The awards were organized by [email protected] and KerrySciTechwhich announced its rebranding as a combined entity for Technology Industry Alliancerepresenting the interests of the region’s technology sector.

The award sponsors were [email protected] Skillnet, Deloitte, RDJ, Fexco, Trend Micro, Cork Smart Gateway, KPMG, Cork City Council, Springboard Communications, Cork County Council, Enterprise Ireland and Kinsale Spirit Company.

[email protected] is one of Ireland’s most established and connected tech clusters, representing over 200 technology and technology companies across the South West. The organization works with universities, industry, local government and state agencies to provide opportunities for networking, development and collaboration.

KerrySciTech is a non-profit member organization that promotes the Kerry region as a science, technology and engineering hotspot for talent, jobs and investment. Membership covers 70 start-ups, SMEs, multinationals, incubation centers and digital hubs.
